Okay, to begin with this book is in print format, not sure if it will be on Kindle in the future.I loved this book, the description minimizes what actually happens (FYI I will not fully spoil any book in my reviews). The book starts after Elizabeth has refuses Mr Collins and Mrs Bennet is irate, though she is worse than in canon. Mrs Bennet it appears has had a history of emotionally, mentally and I believe occasionally physically abusive to Elizabeth, therefore Mr Bennet requested that her godfather invite Elizabeth to spend time with him. (Since its towards the beginning I will give you this info....) Lord Matlock is Elizabeth's godfather, his sister Elizabeth (twin to Lady Catherine de Bourgh) was Elizabeth (Bennet's) godmother.
This book tells how Elizabeth was left an inheritance by her godmother and how she slowly finds her way in the world of the upper echelons of London society. Some of her prior interactions (canon from before the awful proposal by Mr Collins) are not exactly as we know it where Mr Darcy and Mr Wickham are concerned, and through all her closer interaction with Lord Matlock and his family she is able to form Mr Darcy's character better.
There really is very low angst, so I was able to enjoy it better without my heart racing, must have some E&D stories that are lower angst rating from time to time. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are a bit of editing issues, though in my opinion not as many or as obstructive as other stories I have read.
I really liked this version of Elizabeth because she was her strong self, at times sarcastic as normal, though she was not too proud to ask for help and hold grudges. She does not judge everyone at face value until she gets to know them more. I love Mary and Mr Bennet in this book, yes Jane is her normal supportive self though she is not a primary character like Mary and Mr Bennet are. Mary has also been 'abused' by Mrs Bennet by being the ignored child, though in this book she starts to emerge more and show her love for her family, especially Elizabeth because of having been 'abused' by their mother as a common ground of understanding, Mr Bennet is amazing in this book as well because he actually takes an interest in the wellbeing of his family, yes starting with his favorite but does show more of being a father than is canon. Mr Darcy is different in that he is not as fastidious and shows more of his heart than what is canon.
I will recommend this story to all JAFFers, it is appropriate for all audiences.

Elizabeth Secret Heiress Families Matter Series Volume 1 Mrs Sharon E Garrison 9781514230886 Books Reviews
I thought it was great. I have read it twice and plan on reading it again when I finish the book I am reading.
I enjoyed reading Mrs. Garrison's novel. I will definitely reread this book in the future.
Good book
The family that shops together stays together. Shopping and eating, eating and shopping. The story had such potential. Although I enjoyed the book, I could have done without so much eating and shopping!
This book was a very good read. I enjoyed the book. I have ordered other books by Sharon Garrison. I wonder why she do not put her books on . I am sure more people would buy her books. I would buy the books but, I ready don't like storing the books.
First, I must state that this was an enjoyable book. However, as has been stated, it left too much unexplained. For example, why did Mrs Bennet abuse Elizabeth and seem to actually hate her. What persisted in my mind was that Elizabeth Bennet was the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Matlock's sister, Lady Elizabeth Fitzwilliam Campbell (Elizabeth B. was a split image of her godmother!) There were many possibilities and too much unexplained! Also, the ending seemed rushed. Even with these shortcomings, I still enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.
I am a huge fan of reading what if stories about Elizabeth and Darcy. I had ordered this book thinking because it was in print I would find a well written edited book. Not so much... missing words from sentences - along with formatting.
The description of the book had me intrigued so much so I decided to purchase this printed book. I am not a person who likes to have books around taking up space. I love my kindle just for the amount of space I save.
The story begins with Mrs Bennet abusing Lizzy and her being sent away to her Godfather Lord Matlock. While it is upsetting to read about the abuse of Lizzy, her father's explanation was lacking. There was so much more that could have been written in the development of their family connections. One example is Elizabeth's resemblance to her godmother, I felt there could have been more including why Mrs. Bennet hated Lizzy instead of the lost family connection going back into their families tree. In this story Mr. Darcy still made his offhand remark about Lizzy, Mr Bennet did not confront Darcy even with his knowledge of the connections to his family.
The other example is the explanation as to why Mrs. Bennett was abusing Lizzy, Oh the possibilities.
The book tells more about shopping trips than building relationships. While I enjoy details about ladies fashions I would have preferred more about romance and development of friendships. There was a build up in the story about London learning of Lizzy's fortune that was never mentioned. It was mentioned so much so I would have thought something might have happened. Even Caroline's appearance was without complications. She seemed out of character for my tastes.
There are times when I spend $5.00 or less on a story that does not hit its mark does not bother me, however spending $13.05 was a hard hit. There is to be a sequel however the subject is the daughter of the Matlock's, having said that, I will not be purchasing the sequel.
Please remember this is only my opinion and opinions vary.
