The content of this book is very good--would rate it 5 stars. Theodore Roosevelt wrote charming letters to his children This book is a print-on-demand abstract --about 80 pages of the actual 450-page book of essays plus letters that is available for free. Roosevelt's charming drawings he sent to his children are also missing. The intro to the letters was written by Joseph Bishop, who is nowhere acknowledged in this book. Good luck citing this in a research paper.

Letters to His Children edition by Theodore Roosevelt Politics Social Sciences eBooks Reviews

This book is exactly what it says. It is a collection of letters from Theodore to his children at different times from 1898-1911. Most of the letters don't hold anymore than passing interest. There are a few that reveal interesting aspects of his personality but none really show anything that you likely didn't already know. There is also little in the introduction of each letter or even an explanation of how many children he had and what their relative ages were. This really ends up being a collection of primary sources that you could likely find online for free.
A detailed correspondence from Teddy Roosevelt to his children. They reveal how much family meant to one of our greatest presidents.
I really enjoyed reading his letters. He is one of my favorite Americans and I read all of his books I recommend this book to all as it shows his love for his children.
It's such a pleasure to be able to read one's thoughts that are so great. This is a great book to read and enjoy.
The book provided an interesting view point of Roosevelt, but it is exactly what it says it is... letters to his children. The part in which he talks his sons out of the military was the part which made it worth it for me. I enjoyed it, but probably could have spent my time better else where.
Loved this book and wanted more. Lots of history with a genuine picture of Teddy Roosevelt - His family values, his sense of priorities, his deep love for his children and the love of his life. He simply came alive as a person and demonstrated the balance of life of a great leader, who led by example. This book uplifted me, inspired me and I understood pieces of our American History so much more. A must read for any lover of American history.
This shows the man behind the office. great read for any father.
